THE FTC – TRUTH IN ADVERTISING – FULL DISCLOSURE – TELLING THE TRUTH

Customer Testimonials: The FTC demands truth in advertising, full disclosures and yada yada. But people who are professional marketers (those guys who actually graduate from college with degrees in this stuff as well as the marketing gurus everyone loves to quote) – and I do know some of them personally and I do call them friends and they do trust me – will say “Use customer testimonials. Make them up if you don’t have any”. And they’re serious. “Make them up if you don’t have any, it doesn’t matter”. What DOES matter to them is that they get you to buy into what they’re selling so they can meet their annual goals of making $100,000 or $200,000 (actual stated and obtained goals) selling marketing to businesses.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS – yes, some sites testimonials ARE legit but can you tell which are and which aren’t?

That said – I’m not trying to give away the greatest marketing gimmick in the world for free “Just create dozens of fake customer testimonials and quadruple your online sales”… no, not at all. What I’m SAYING is that most other sites out there getting you to sign up for their marketing, telling you how cheap and easy it is, giving you testimonial after testimonial (some are “legit” – in other words some are their closest friends and family who will gladly answer the phone supplied as a referral and rave about the marketing services in question). The TRUTH is what I’m giving you – you may not like it, you may prefer to be deceived and lose money just so you can sit back and remain inside of your comfort zone, but the TRUTH is what you’re going to get. Leave now if you don’t want it.

MOST BUSINESSES TODAY WANT MORE CONTROL – DO IT YOURSELF SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION and DO IT YOURSELF WEB MARKETING

I’ve given clients excellent information and instruction and even supplied some of the more astute ones with books, access to my own online services accounts so they can do their own keyword research, and designed their sites so they can update them themselves (add new products, new pages and sections, write and send their own email newsletters and so forth.

That said just buying a racing car (or a high powered SEO / Marketing site setup) doesn’t turn you into a racing car driver or turn your site into a marketing juggernaut without someone controlling it. You CAN be taught to take control – and YOU WILL COMPETE AT LEVELS YOU DIDN’T THINK YOU COULD REACH driving the family car or the standard site. You will pay more but you will make much more and move up to a new level of success.
