Using Twitter Mobile on an Android Phone Reading a Local Restaurant Tweet with a Web Link.

The link in the Android phone posted on Twitter and tweeted by MissLizzyC points to this page because she’s trying to tell people about a restaurant she’s at right now: http://foursquare.com/venue/76502 …but not even to a web site. It’s just a restaurant profile – not the best choice if people are looking for more than a name and address, but it’s the best Lizzy can do! Lizzy is tweeting from her phone, and I’m reading it on my phone and checking out the link. Maybe I want to eat somewhere new. There’s no web site though – so nothing to look at there to help me decide.

So I go to one of my local restaurants web site’s – www.papajoes.org – and they have a friendly site, menu, the whole nine yards including a video, and I see this, some great shots of the building, their staff, the menu and a great video series built right into the site::

One area of the web that is exploding right now is the use of the mobile web. iPhones, Google’s Android operating system phones, iPads and other mobile web capable smart devices are increasingly being accessed by those on the go. Passing through new areas traveling by car simply accessing a search result allows searchers to find places to eat, shop, bank and anything else they may need to do all while pulled over to make a quick search. Not only that, but recommendations about places to shop and eat are made on these same devices which allows friends to communicate their exact locations on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere on social media sites including uploading photos and videos live.

Mobile Marketing really relies on keeping things popping on the site without a lot of useless distractions and with getting your pages to load quickly – and then getting right to the point so that the mobile searcher can find what he or she wants quickly without waiting.
